Final Exam in Chemistry

You need to create a 1/2 page, front side only, done by hand of notes to help you on your Final Exam. Testing days June 3rd and 4th.

Test Questions will cover:

1. Tools Names of Tools, What they measure, Unit of measure
2. Matter Physical Characteristics (thermal conductivity, ductility, malleability, solubility, etc.)
  Particle Movement of solids, liquids and gases
  Difference between mass & weight
  What makes matter, matter?
3. The Atom Subatomic particles- their location and charge
  Scientists' discoveries
  Isotopes
  Ions
4. The Periodic Table Family groups
  Valence
  Finding element's Proton, Electron and Neutrons count
  ID Metals, Nonmetals, Metalloids, Most active metals, Most active nonmetals, alkali, halogens, noble gases
  Covalent vs. Ionic bonding
5. Chemical Equations Be able to balance equations
6. Elements, Compounds and Mixtures What are the different characteristics of each?

Classify substances (Homogeneous, Heterogeneous, Pure)

7. Physical vs . Chemical Change Be able to determine whether a change in matter is either physical or chemical
8. Acids and Bases Understand the pH scale
  Identify types of ions associated with pH scale
  Color change on scale
  Ways to neutralize acids & bases
9. Finding Volume There are three ways to find volume----know all three
10. Finding Density The formula will be given to you. Know how to find any three of the variables by using the triangle trick or algebraic equations.
11. Counting Atoms in Compounds Be able to count # of a specific element in a compound; Be able to count TOTAL atoms in a compound
12. Bohr Model & Lewis Dot Be able to draw the Bohr model for any element in 1st three rows of the periodic table; Be able to illustrate the Lewis dot (valence) for any element in families 1,2,13,14,15,16,17,18.
